The lavender festival was postponed for a month, since the roads and fields are flooded here in north Texas. So, our Lemon Verbena plants are still growing in their nursery, inside the funky greenhouse when it's raining, and outside in the sun whenever possible. After 1.5" of rain today they're enjoying some sun!
Now here are the newest inhabitants of the garden enclosure, Almond Verbena plants in 4" and quart-sized pots. No, Almond Verbena is not the same as Lemon Verbena, but with a different almond-like odor.
Almond Verbena is a delightfully-scented bush, best enjoyed fresh, like jasmine. You can't dry it for culinary use at all, it's just all about the intoxicating scent. That's it!
Here's a glimpse of it in all it's full-grown, heavenly-scented glory, in full-summer bloom (not our plants, yet...)
